IE8 Default Rendering Mode U-Turn

A few months ago it was revealed that Microsoft's Internet explorer 8 browser would feature multiple page rendering modes. This controversial decision was made worse by the fact that the standards compliant rendering mode was not the default.

According to Microsoft's IE development blog, they have now decided to interpret standards by default in IE8, with other rendering modes being optional. This should (fingers crossed!) bring IE in line with the way in which the other popular browsers render pages.

Assuming Microsoft keeps to this plan, this is great news!
